Several connection configurations are being considered for the Ballynagare wind farm project, taking account of existing and planned transmission infrastructure, existing and planned generators and system loads.  

 

The two primary connection strategies being explored are;

a 110kv underground cable connection from the onsite substation to the 110kv Clahane substation;

and a 110kv underground cable connection from the onsite substation to the 110kv Trien substation.

 

Any connection strategy will not be finalised until a connection offer is made by Eirgrid.

A grid integration study will be carried out in conjunction with Eirgid and can commence in Q4 2022 once the planning process has been completed.
